Barbara “Willy” Mendes studied art in NYC, then published work as “Willy Mendes” in underground comix, including Gothic Blimp Works, It Ain’t Me Babe, All Girl Thrills, Slow Death Funnies, and Illuminations. Her brilliantly colored narrative paintings, epic in detail and scale, have been exhibited in the U.S. and Israel; Biblical murals are permanently displayed in Jerusalem, Florida, and Los Angeles.

Ms. Mendes has been declared a “Los Angeles Cultural Treasure,” and the corner featuring her “Angel Wall” outdoor mural is officially designated “Barbara Mendes Square.”

Her new Queen of Cosmos Comix (80 pages, includes brand new 36 page QofCC, plus earlier “Tales for the Modern Mystic” and “Realm of Karma Comix”) is due out in 2020 from Red 5 Comics!
