John Dolan is from the Bay Area. He taught Science Fiction literature and film at the University of Otago in New Zealand. He has taught creative writing and has written hundreds of reviews, essays and stories as well as a memoir (Pleasant Hell) and academic criticism (Poetic Occasion from Milton to Wordsworth). His retelling of The Iliad (Rage) will be published by Feral House Press in 2016. He is currently writing articles on military affairs and history as the War Nerd and making weekly podcasts with Mark Ames on Radio War Nerd.
