Now that we have our dates and venue for the sixth-annual San Diego Comic Fest (April 20-22, 2018 at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center) we are inviting guests and developing programs. Here are a few themes and 2018 anniversaries we are already developing programming for:

The 200th Anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein

The Fest will feature multiple programs about Mary Shelley, her novel, and its influences and adaptations including an intimate look at the great interpreter of Frankenstein’s monster, Boris Karloff, by his daughter, Sara Karloff.

The 50th Anniversary of the Beatle’s Animated Film The Yellow Submarine

Scott Shaw! will be moderating a panel on this classic film.

The 50th Anniversary of the U.S. Premiere of The Prisoner

Pop-culture historian David Lemmo will be moderating a panel on this great show with panelists to include Mike Royer (who inked Jack Kirby’s unpublished The Prisoner comic). Richard Bruning (who edited DC’s comic sequels to The Prisoner), and comics artist/writer Paul Guinan.

The 25th Anniversary of Vertigo

Spotlight on Guest of Honor Karen Berger who created the legendary Vertigo line at DC.

In the meantime, while we are adding and posting information about more programs and program themes, you can check out the guest list and programming schedule from the last Fest by just clicking on over to the San Diego Comic Fest 2017 archive page.
