Masked Ball

Masked Ball
San Diego Comic Fest is delighted to host its first annual MASKED BALL, in the upstairs Garden Salons of the Town & Country Hotel’s Garden Ballroom, Saturday evening, October 5th, 9:00 pm to midnight.

The Ball will feature an eclectic mix of high-energy social dance music by RAGGLE TAGGLE, a local favorite … plus a no-host bar and some fun surprises during the band breaks! The general public will be able to attend for only $10 (paid at the door), while registered Fest attendees will get in FREE!

Attire:

While costumes — especially of the masked variety — are encouraged, they are not required. Neither is formal attire. Our priorities are comfort, creativity, and danceability. Shoes must be worn at all times, and for dancing we recommend flat or low-heels that allow you to easily pivot and slide (flip flops don’t work well). Please keep in mind that this is an all ages event. In consideration of other guests, as well as of the venue and dance floor, the following items will not be allowed:

  • Weapons, or any prop deemed to be dangerous by Fest staff
  • Spike heels, spurs, or shoes that have metal soles or tips
  • Projections (wings, horns, or tails) that extend further than 10″ off your body

Dance Lessons:

To get the most out of our Masked Ball, we highly recommend first learning a few dance basics! San Diegans have a wealth of classes from which they can choose; but to prepare for this event, we suggest:

Waltz & Such — for $1 vintage social dance lessons

2PlySwing — for all things swing
