Since the cafe is honoring Rod Serling, remind one of us Trimbles to tell the story of bringing Mr. Serling’s Hugo award back from a Worldcon. We held the award hostage until we could hand-deliver it. Serling’s reaction was classy.

Hello Mike, Wendy, & assorted crew

Am looking forward to this 3rd Comic Fest big time to catch up with all sorts of old long time friends as well as make new ones. Am already developing three Power Point presentations for your consideration:

1) Origins of the American comic book 1840s-1930a
2) Origins of the Modern American comic book 1928-1970s
3) Origins of the Direct Market 1940s-1980s which would present interesting research out of my forthcoming book on same I call Comic Book Store Wars .

as well as a possible 4th one centered on the last few years of the late Rick Griffin I call Rick Griffin Without A Net. We had just gotten a Rick Griffin art gallery opened down in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. This is one artist who has affected the lives of millions worldwide.

Am hoping some one can audio/visually tape these to make in to YouTube presentations.
